VKF CHILDREN ACHIEVEMENTS & PARTICIPATION 2005-06

Considering the kind of background that these children come from, it is commendable that they have achieved so much, which without the support of Visamo Kids Foundation would have been a distant dream. We are proud of our young achievers and here is a list of their achievements.

 

MAYURI MAHESHWARI
Daughter of a farm labourer in Kodki (Kutch), Mayuri is 5-years-old. She is studying in Eklavya School in Junior Kindergarten. She joined Visamo Kids Foundation in January 2006. She is a very loving, delicate and active child. When she joined here, she missed her parents and her pet dog very much. Gradually, with love and affection given by the entire staff she started feeling at home in their company. She is very meticulous and regular with her studies. She has good leadership qualities. Her interests are singing and dancing. She loves drawing.


MOHSIN MANSURI

Son of Truck Driver from Jindva near Idar, this 12-years-old studies in the Calorx Delhi Public School (Ahmedabad) in Grade 5. He came to VKF in August 2002 and was 8-years-old at the time of joining. He is playful and carefree child. However, we are trying to make him more careful about his belongings as he tends to misplace them. He is fond of outdoor games. He likes Karate and Skating. He is very good at logical thinking. He loves science and social-studies (humanities).


NEELAM SHARMA
Neelam is the daughter of a vegetable vendor and has a stepmother who is a household help. She is studying in Anand Niketan School in Grade I. She joined Visamo in February 2005. At VKF we have a strong observation system to study the child’s interest as well as behaviour, so that we can groom her for a better future. Remedial Teaching (supplementary teaching) at Visamo had shown great improvement in her academics and she was able to cope up the syllabus of Jr KG and Sr KG and was directly admitted to Grade I. She is making good efforts in conversing in English and has improved her sentence structure. Constant encouragement and appreciation has helped her a lot. She aspires to become a doctor one day.

NISHA PRAJAPATI
Nisha is the daughter of a vegetable vendor, from Baroda. She is studying in Calorx Delhi Public School (Ahmedabad) in Grade 4. She has now started studying individually. A very loving, delicate and active child, Nisha is very meticulous and regular with her work. She has good leadership qualities. Her interests are Math and creative writing. She loves drawing.

 

PAVAN PADVI
Pavan is the son of a labourer is a 8-year-old. Presently he is studying in the Calorx Delhi Public School in Grade I. He came to VKF in February 2005. He is very playful and talkative. Initially, Pavan was very loud while expressing himself with a tribal accent. Gradually; he has learnt to talk softly and sweetly with sophistication. He is fast learner and is improving his spoken English. Pavan has a strong desire to learn and thus has received “Excellent” in Sr KG. His hobbies are singing and dancing. He participated in his school’s Annual Function and performed a Pooja Dance.

PINKAL SOMESHWAR
Daughter of a painter from Ahmedabad, Pinkal is 6-years-old. She is studying in Anand Niketan School in the Senior Kidnergarten. She joined Visamo Kids Foundation in March 2006. Pinkal is a very loving, delicate and active child, she is also very talkative. Earlier she was studying in a local balwadi (rural village school) of Ahmedabad. Amazingly, she settled in the new environment very quickly. She is very meticulous and regular about her work. She has good leadership qualities. Her interests are singing and dancing.


POOJA KEVAT
Daughter of a loom worker, Pooja is 10-years-old. Presently she is studying in Eklavya School in Grade 5. She came to Visamo in 2002. She was 6-years-old when she joined Visamo. At Visamo, we have strong observation system to study the child’s interest, inclinations as well as behaviour, so that we can groom her/him for a better tomorrow. In the beginning she was stubborn and arrogant, but with regular counseling she has changed a lot now. She is keenly interested in Drawing.


PURVI GAMIT
Daughter of a farm labourer, Purvi is from Mandal, near Surat. She is 6-years-oldand is studying in Anand Niketan SCHOOL in the Senior Kindergarten. She joined Visamo Kids Foundation in March 2006. Purvi’s home town is in the interiors of the district and hence she did not get much academic exposure, but, after efforts by her teachers, she is now able to cope up with the studies. When, she joined Visamo, she was mentally prepared to stay away from her parents and got accustomed to the new environment easily and mingled with other children quickly.
